UPDATED: Galliford Try will not now be closing Hamelin Way tonight, Friday 16th October.

The first of a series of overnight temporary closures of Hamelin Way are due to commence this Monday, 5th October through to Friday 9th October. The overnight closures affect Hamelin Way between Gallows Gate and Kerswell Gardens, when traffic will be diverted through Shiphay and Riviera Way between the hours of 9pm and 6am each night. Should the works conclude ahead of each night’s programme the road will be opened before 6am.

The second closure will be between the hours of 9pm and 6am on Monday 12th October through to Friday 16th October, with a third closure scheduled for w/c Monday 19th October. Full details will be confirmed prior to this programme of works commencing as the full weeks closure may not be required. The closures will allow contractors to finalise surfacing and the anti-skid surface and also install traffic light loops for the new Edginswell Junction, Kerswell Gardens and the approach roads.

The works scheduled for Monday,19th October are no longer required but the works on Tuesday 20th will still proceed.

South West Highways are carrying out night time closures of the southbond carriageway north of Penn Inn from Thursday 22nd to Sunday 25th October. Galliford Try will be taking advantage of the closures on Thursday and Friday to carry out our own works, thereby reducing inconvenience to road users.

The planned closure of the A380 between Ware Barton and Penn Inn is not required tonight, Friday 9th October.

From the 7th to 9th October there will be overnight closures of the A380 between Penn Inn and Ware Barton to carry out further surfacing works. The closures are scheduled between 7pm and 7am on each night and traffic will be diverted through Newton Abbot and Kingsteignton.

During the week of 12th October there will be five nights of closures for southbound traffic from 7pm to 7am to install traffic light loops, signage and anti-skid surfacing.

On Monday, 19th and Tuesday, 20th October from 7pm to 7am the southbound carriageway of the A380 will be closed between Ware Barton and Penn Inn for installation of road signs. Traffic will be diverted through Newton Abbot and Kingsteignton.
