Aller Road will be closed to through traffic tomorrow, Tuesday, 9th February, while contactors carry out surfacing works near to Suparoofing and the Barn Owl.
The works are scheduled to start at 4pm and will last approximately three hours. The area of road which will be closed is from (and including) the T-junction near Suparoofing down across the old railway bridge to the new mini roundabout. During this time access to Aller Road will not be available from the Barn Owl end, but Aller Road will remain open at the Moorpark Road exit.
Newton Road (the old A380) is closed to traffic this week between the Romany Jones junction and the new Aller Roundabout. Direct travel from Newton Abbot to Aller Road will not be possible during tomorrow evening’s closure. If you are travelling from Newton Abbot the two suggested diversions are either via the new A380 dual carriageway to Kerswell Gardens and then to return on the old A380, or via St Marychurch Road, through the Aller estate along the newly extended Aller Brake Road and exit at the Romany Jones junction.

Old Newton Road has been closed on Thursday and Friday, 4th and 5th February to complete roadworks.
During this closure the separate closure of Newton Road near to the Romany Jones lay-by was lifted to ease traffic movements in the vicinity.
The Old Newton Road works are expected to be successfully completed by the end of this weekend, after which Galliford Try will reinstate the temporary closure of Newton Road between the Romany Jones junction and the new Aller Roundabout.
The closure will be in place from 6am on Tuesday, 9th February and the road is expected to reopen on the evening of Sunday, 14th February. During this time the pre-established diversion route via Aller Brake Road will be reinstated.
These works are weather-dependent, although if they are completed ahead of schedule the closure will be removed earlier than planned.
