new Aller roundabout
Business as usual during temporary road closure
Monday, 22/06/2015

Road users travelling between Kingskerswell and Newton Abbot will soon be using a new roundabout.

Galliford Try – the company responsible for constructing the road – has announced that from this weekend (27th June) the new Aller roundabout will open as part of the A380 South Devon Link Road project.

To facilitate tie-in works, a temporary closure of a section of Aller Road between the A380 and the Barn Owl pub will be required from 7pm on Friday, 26th June through to the evening of Sunday, 28th June.

If the works are completed ahead of schedule, the road closure will be lifted and the roundabout opened earlier than planned. Local businesses will be open as usual and access to the Barn Owl pub will remain open during this construction.  Pedestrian access along the A380 will be provided during and after these works.

Once the roundabout is opened, road users on the existing A380 will temporarily use this roundabout to allow work to proceed on other sections of the project, including the construction of the new Aller Link Road to the Aller estate.

Located in the vicinity of the Barn Owl pub, the new Aller roundabout will eventually provide access to all local routes, including the existing A380 to Kingskerswell, the new Aller Link Road and Decoy.

These works are dependent on fine weather and are subject to review.
